Who We Are
Center for Racehorse Retraining started with a passion for the Thoroughbred horse and a need for post-track care for our racehorse athletes in the Rocky Mountain area. Through our program, we provide retraining using classical dressage principles with the goal of providing a solid foundation for the horses’ new careers. We rehabilitate those horses that need extra help transitioning into their new life, and provide retirement care for those that are ready for that final step.
Located on just over 2500 acres of Wyoming prairie, Center For Racehorse Retraining is proud to offer the horses in our care a unique and peaceful lifestyle. Our herd of over 75 thoroughbreds (and a handful of other breeds) utilize our open pasture as they see fit.
Under the close eye of owner Kate Anderson and her family, our horses are always cared for with extreme diligence. Whether they are right by the gate or across the prairie.

The acreage that is utilized for our horses is a vital step into their letdown and rehabilitation process.

In the summer of 2024, we will be opening the doors to our brand-new rehabilitation facility in Chugwater, WY. We are excited to show everyone.
Our Support
CRR can provide exceptional care and support to the horses in our program with the support and knowledge of our professional team, consisting of Allen Landes, DVM, and head farrier, Meghan McGann. Our Racing Community
The horses we receive in our programs are primarily donated from their race track connections. We are grateful to these individuals for giving us the ability to continue our work with OTTBs and believe that this partnership is a true testament to the continued commitment of the racing community to horses on and off the track.
